Day 2, August 2 2024

Volunteers still needed. There is a great need for volunteer 4x4 drivers and vehicles to transport fire crews and volunteers from the meeting point, village of Mikrevo, to the fire. The job of a 4x4 and driver can be useful any time of the day or evening to help get folks up and then back down from the fire. If you know anyone with such a vehicle, now is the time to call them to hear if they can help. If not now then for the many more fires surely to come this month.

Day 1, August 1 2024

The meeting point will be in the center of the village of Mikrevo at 07:00 August 1st! We will as soon as possible confirm meeting point times for each new day.

Lots of volunteers needed for tomorrow's fire in Strumyani municipality!

👨‍🦱Volunteers will be involved in fighting a forest fire and should be dressed as follows:

If possible:

- Fireproof protective clothing

- Helmet

- Protective goggles

- Respirator or mask

- Gloves - heat resistant, to protect hands.

- Sturdy shoes or boots - for stability and foot protection, preferably with metal bombs.

In cases where you do not have flame resistant clothing, be prepared with:

- Long clothing, of non-synthetic fabrics

- Reflective items, gloves, goggles and masks

🛠If you have one, bring it with you - trowels, shovels, sprinklers!

The Fire Near Kazanlack from July 19th, has been put down by professional crews. A Mayor of the affected town was reported to have called for volunteers. For more info click here.

This is a demo event to show you what a real event may look like and what kind of information you may find. ——- The Meeting point will be each morning at 6am in front of the (insert meeting point). There you will walk 4 hours up the mountain trail to the fire work site.
